AVP Pro Beach Volleyball announced that it has received a funding commitment of up to $1 million from its lead investor, RJSM Partners, LLC. AVP will use the proceeds to continue broadening the reach and scope of the national professional beach volleyball tour in the United States.

The first round of the International Volleyball tournament of Puerto Vallarta began on June 12th, 2009 at the AgustÃn Flores Contreras Sports Stadium. This tournament had 10 international teams and a total of 2 Mexican teams; all of these teams were competing against each other. The final of this Volleyball Tournament was held on the 14th June.
